Description

Before this bracelet reached your wrist, a woman in Gaza bent over a wooden frame, needle in hand, counting threads by memory — the way her mother taught her, and her mother before that.

This Nablus Tatreez Bracelet carries the embroidery language of the city of Nablus — one of the oldest tatreez traditions in Palestine, known for its bold geometric patterns, deep violet hues, and the cross-stitch technique that has been passed from mother to daughter for centuries.

Every diamond, every line, every knot is intentional. There are no machines. No shortcuts. Just thread, time, and the hands of a woman who carries her homeland in every stitch.

✦ The Story Behind the Pattern

The geometric motifs on this bracelet are inspired by the traditional dress patterns of Nablus — a city in the northern West Bank known for centuries as a center of Palestinian culture and craftsmanship. The interlocking diamond shapes represent the “almond” motif, a symbol of fertility and endurance in Palestinian heritage.

The royal violet and golden yellow palette is not accidental — these are the historic colors of Palestinian highland embroidery, used by women to mark their city of origin in the intricate language of tatreez.

✦ The Artisan

This piece was embroidered by one of our women artisans in Gaza — women who learned tatreez as girls, who carried their needles through displacement, who embroider today not only to create beauty but to insist on their presence in the world.

When you wear this bracelet, you carry her story — and the story of every Palestinian woman who ever stitched her identity into thread.
